Estrella Morente
Estrella Morente Carbonell, born in 1980 in Granada, Spain, is a flamenco
singer. She began singing traditional cantes de Levante at age four and
performed with maestro Sabicas at age seven. Estrella Morente's debut as a
cantaora occurred at sixteen during the Gala de presentación de los Campeonatos
de Esquí Alpino de Sierra Nevada. Her first album, Mi cante y un poema, released
in 2001, achieved platinum status. She has collaborated with notable figures
