Esther Ofarim
Esther Zaied, known professionally as Esther Ofarim, is an Israeli singer and
actress born June 13, 1941, in Safed, Mandatory Palestine. After completing her
military service, she met dancer and choreographer Abraham Reichstadt (Abi
Ofarim), whom she married in 1961, and formed the vocal duo Ofarim in 1959. In
1963, while residing in Geneva, she represented Switzerland at the Eurovision
Song Contest with “T'en va pas” (released in German as “Melodie einer Nacht”),
