Estela Magnone Ibarburu, born January 4, 1948, in Montevideo, Uruguay, is a
Uruguayan singer and composer who began piano studies at age five under her
mother and later studied with Renée Bonnet. Her transition to popular music came
in 1978, and she co-founded the group Travesía in 1981, which released Ni un
minuto más de dolor in 1983 under Ayuí / Tacuabé. Magnone collaborated with
Jaime Roos on Mujer de sal junto a un hombre vuelto carbón in 1985 and joined
Níquel for their eponymous 1988 album Níquel. Her solo releases include Vals
