American gospel and R&B singer and actress Erica Monique Campbell was born Erica
Monique Atkins in Inglewood, California, on April 29, 1972. Specializing in
contemporary urban gospel, Christian R&B and contemporary R&B, she began her
musical career in the late 1990s with her younger sister, Tina Campbell, in the
group Mary Mary. Her debut solo album, Help (2014), reached the top 10 of the
Billboard 200 and won the Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album at the 57th Grammy
