England Dan & John Ford Coley were an American soft rock duo comprising Danny
Wayland "England Dan" Seals and John Edward "John Ford" Coley. Originally from
Texas, they began performing in local bands during their school years at W.W.
Samuell High School in Dallas, including Playboys Five and Theze Few. The duo
initially recorded demos as The Shimmerers in Nashville before joining the
Dallas pop/psych group Southwest F.O.B. They signed with A&M Records in 1970
under the name England Dan & John Ford Coley. After being released from their
