Born in Cahors on October 12, 1982, alto and soprano saxophonist Émile Parisien
trained at the Collège de jazz de Marciac and then at the Conservatoire de
Toulouse, before embarking on a career as a professional musician featuring
compositions inspired by classical music and contemporary jazz. Winner of the
Victoires du jazz (2009) and the Prix Django Reinhardt (2012), he recorded the
self-produced quintet album Éphémère (2008), followed by Au Revoir Porc-Épic
(2007), Original Pimpant (2009) and Chien Guêpe (2012) for the Laborie Jazz
