Elizabeth & the Catapult
Elizabeth & the Catapult is an American indie pop and rock group formed in 2004
in Brooklyn, New York. Leader Elizabeth Ziman grew up in Greenwich Village and
studied classical composition at the Berklee College of Music. In 2002, Ziman
performed as a background vocalist for Patti Austin’s Ella Fitzgerald tribute
tour, an experience that integrated jazz influences into her songwriting. The
ensemble moved to Brooklyn in 2005 and released the recording Elizabeth & The
Catapult in 2006. After signing with Verve Records, the group released the album
