Elin Manahan Thomas, born in 1977 in Gorseinon near Swansea, Wales, is a soprano
known for her specialization in Baroque music. She began singing at age 15 with
the Swansea Bach Choir and later won a choral scholarship to Clare College,
Cambridge. After completing an MPhil, she joined the Monteverdi Choir and
pursued postgraduate vocal studies at the Royal College of Music in London.
Manahan Thomas gained early acclaim for her performance on Naxos' recording of
Rutter's Requiem. Her debut solo album, Eternal Light, was released in 2007.
