Eric Robert Lewis, known as ELEW, and born on May 13, 1973 in Camden, New
Jersey, is a jazz pianist. He began his career playing with artists such as
Wynton Marsalis and Cassandra Wilson after graduating from the Manhattan School
of Music in 1995. Lewis later created "rockjazz," blending jazz with rock and
pop music. His first album, Elew Rockjazz Vol. 1 (2010), was released on his own
