El Alfa, born Emanuel Herrera Batista on December 18, 1990, in Bajos de Haina,
Dominican Republic, started pursuing music in his teens and first broke through
after a short-lived duo with Eddy Wilson, moving into a solo run that included
early dembow staples such as “Coche Bomba,” “Tarzan,” and “Muevete Jevi.” After
years of street singles and regional collaborations, he expanded his reach with
the EP Disciplina in 2017, then pushed further with the albums El Hombre in
