Eiko Shimamiya, born on April 20, 1965, in Japan, is a singer-songwriter and
producer. Before her debut, she dedicated herself to teaching singing. In 1999,
Eiko Shimamiya joined I’ve Sound, contributing to their first album Regret with
the track “Last regrets X-mas floor style”. She released three extended plays
before her solo debut in 2005 with the mini LP Ulysses. In October 2005, she
performed at Budokan with other I’ve Sound members. Her breakthrough came in
2006 when she sang “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni”, the opening theme for the anime
