Egill Ólafsson, born 9 February 1953, is an Icelandic singer-songwriter and
actor who began playing guitar and piano as a child and joined a boys’ brass
band directed by Karl Otto Runólfsson. After studying at Hamrahlid College and
at Reykjavík’s music school, he wrote about 30 theatrical works for choirs,
brass, and strings. He released albums such as Blátt blátt (1992), Angelus Novus
- Nýr Engill (2001), Örlög mín (2013) and Fjall (2017). He co‑wrote the 2015‑16
