Edith Frost, born on August 18, 1964 in San Antonio, Texas, is an American
singer-songwriter. Frost began a music career playing in country bands such as
The Holler Sisters, The Marfa Lights, and Edith and Her Roadhouse Romeos before
moving to Brooklyn in 1990. In 1996, after signing with Chicago's Drag City
label, Frost released the debut EP Edith Frost. This was followed by the EP
Ancestors (1997) and a first full-length album Calling Over Time (1997), which
featured collaborations with Jim O'Rourke, David Grubbs, and Sean O'Hagan.
