Edgar Cruz, born Edgar Michael Cruz in Oklahoma City, is a guitarist known for
his versatility across classical, pop, rock, flamenco, and jazz genres. He began
playing guitar in 1976 under the tutelage of his father, Manuel Cruz II, a
mariachi musician. Cruz studied classical guitar at Oklahoma City University.
Cruz's career took off with early cassette recordings in the 1980s, leading to
his first compact disc release, Throw Another Tape on the Fire, in 1989. He
