American early rockabilly singer Dorsey William Burnett Jr. aka Dorsey Burnette
was born on 28 December 1932 in Memphis, Tennessee. He began his music career
with his younger brother Johnny Burnette and a friend named Paul Burlison as
founding members of The Rock and Roll Trio. He played bass and contributed to
the group's initial success, which included winning Ted Mack's The Original
Amateur Hour on three consecutive occasions in 1956. This led to a recording
