DON JOSE
José Luis Paris, born in 1936 in Ferrol, Spain, professionally known as Don
José, was a Spanish singer and musician. His recording career began in the 1950s
with the group Los Zafiros, with whom he recorded four albums and toured
internationally. As a member of the Spanish romantic trio Trio Zafiro, he toured
the world and performed in the film Pasa la Tuna, eventually securing a
residency at the Embassy Club in London. He also performed briefly with the trio
Los Andinos and worked as a support act for Dorothy Squires. In the early 1970s,
