DJ PMX
DJ PMX is a pioneering Japanese hip‑hop producer and DJ who brought West Coast
hip‑hop styles to Japan. Born in Miyazaki Prefecture, he began his career in the
late 1980s, initially performing as part of MAZZ & PMX and later producing for
iconic artists like ECD, RHYMESTER, and DS455. From the 1990s onward, he played
a central role in shaping the Japanese hip‑hop scene, releasing influential
mixtapes like locoHAMA CRUISING and producing for high-profile figures across
the genre. He is also an adjunct professor at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.
