Divine was born Harris Glenn Milstead on 19 October 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland.
As a singer and drag queen, Divine gained prominence through her collaborations
with director John Waters and her impactful roles in independent cinema. Her
music career began in the early 1980s when she released her first album Born To
Be Cheap. In 1984, Divine achieved significant chart success with the single
"You Think You're a Man", which peaked at number 16 on the UK Singles Chart.
