Dillard & Clark
Dillard & Clark was an American country rock band formed in 1968 by Gene Clark
and Doug Dillard. Clark, a singer-songwriter from Missouri, had previously been
part of The Byrds before leaving in March 1966 to pursue solo projects. He
released his first solo album, Gene Clark with the Gosdin Brothers, in 1967.
Together, they signed with A&M Records and released their debut album, The
Fantastic Expedition of Dillard & Clark, in October 1968. The album received
