Dick Jacobs
Dick Jacobs, born Richard Jacobs on March 29, 1918, in New York City, was an
American musician, conductor, arranger, and music director. He served in the
United States Army during World War II, and later arranged music for Tommy
Dorsey and Sy Oliver. He became the musical director for the television series
Your Hit Parade for its 1957 to 1958 season. He produced notable acts like the
McGuire Sisters and Teresa Brewer, and achieved a hit single with the song
"“Kathy-O”" (1958), the theme tune from the movie Kathy-O. His recording of
