Dennis Banks
Dennis J. Banks was an American activist, author, and musician born on April 12,
1937 in the Leech Lake Indian Reservation. Banks achieved professional
recognition for a career characterized by indigenous rights activism and being a
co-founder of the American Indian Movement in 1968. He achieved professional
recognition for a musical career that included the recording Still Strong
