Denis Elias
Denis Gonzalo Elías Trías, known as Denis Elías, is a Uruguayan plena singer
from the Cerro neighborhood of Montevideo, born on April 17, 1981, and
introduced to music as a child singing with his godfather’s guitar. He took his
first professional steps in the late 1990s as a vocalist with legendary plena
orchestra Karibe con K, debuting onstage with them at 18 in 1998, and later
joined tropical group La Revancha. In the mid-2000s Denis Elías left La Revancha
to start a solo career, quickly scoring local hits with “Corazón herido” and
