DDT, a Russian rock band founded in 1980 in Ufa by Yuri Shevchuk. The original
lineup included Vladimir Sigachyov on keyboard, Rustem Asanbayev on guitar,
Gennady Rodin on bass guitar, and Rustam Karimov on percussion. DDT's
breakthrough came in 1982 with submissions to the Zolotoy Kamerton competition.
Their first album, Svinya na raduge (Pig on a Rainbow), was released that same
year. In 1984, they produced their second album, Periferia (Periphery), which
led to government persecution and forced them underground. Despite this, DDT
