David Grubbs, born September 21, 1967, in the United States of America, is an
American musician known for his roles as a guitarist and composer. His early
bands included The Happy Cadavers and Squirrel Bait, releasing With
Illustrations in 1982 and a 12" EP on Homestead Records, respectively. He then
played with Bastro, which evolved into the avant-garde project Gastr del Sol
with Jim O'Rourke. Notable releases from this period include Crookt, Crackt, or
