David Davis
David L. Davis, born February 16, 1961, in Cullman, Alabama, was an American
mandolinist and singer in the bluegrass tradition. Raised in a musical family,
he was the grandson of banjo and fiddle player J.H. Bailey, and his uncle Cleo
Davis performed in the first incarnation of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys. In
1984, following the health decline of Garry Thurmond, he assumed leadership of
the bluegrass band the Warrior River Boys. Under his leadership, the group
