Whether charming rootsy traditionalists at the Grand Ole Opry or selling out
arenas, wholesome songwriting duo Dan + Shay carved out a reputation for soaring
hits. Dan Smyers grew up in Wexford, Pennsylvania and studied finance at college
before following his dreams and heading to Nashville in his early twenties,
whilst James Shay Mooney was from more typical country music stock in Arkansas
