Dan Reed Network, an American rock band, was formed in 1984 by Dan Reed in
Portland, Oregon. The band's initial lineup included Dan Reed on vocals and
guitar, Brion James on guitar, Melvin Brannon II on bass guitar, Dan Pred on
drums, and Rick DiGiallonardo on keyboard. Their first recording, the six-track
EP Breathless, was released in 1986 and featured the Number 1 single "Steal Me"
on Z-100 in Portland. Between 1987 and 1988, Dan Reed Network signed to Mercury
