Shante Scott Franklin, aka Curren$y, is an American hip-hop performer with
several hit rap albums since his 2010 release 'Pilot Talk' which went to number
six on Billboard's Top Rap Albums Chart and number nine on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop
Albums Chart. Born in New Orleans, he began making mixtapes in the early 2000s
and later collaborated with Freddie Gibbs, Wiz Khalifa and Lil Wayne. 'Pilot
Talk II' (2010) reached number nine on the Rap Chart and number 15 on the
R&B/Hip-Hop Chart. 'Weekend at Burnies' (2011) went to number four on the Rap
