Christian Death is an American rock band formed in October 1979 by John "Jay"
Albert, Rozz Williams, James McGearty, and George Belanger. Christian Death's
first album, Only Theatre of Pain, was released in 1982. Their follow-up album,
Catastrophe Ballet, came out in 1984 with a new lineup including Valor Kand on
guitar. This period saw significant changes as Rozz Williams left the band in
1985, leading to Kand taking over the group's creative direction. In later
years, Christian Death continued with various lineups and released several
albums, including The Iron Mask (1992).
