Chris Kenner, born on December 25, 1929, in Kenner, Louisiana, was an American
R&B singer and songwriter. He began his musical journey singing gospel music
with his church choir before moving to New Orleans as a teenager to work as a
stevedore. In 1955, Kenner made his first recordings for Baton Records, though
they were unsuccessful. His breakthrough came in 1957 with "Sick and Tired" on
Imperial Records, which reached number 13 on the Billboard R&B chart. Kenner
