Chihei Hatakeyama
Chihei Hatakeyama, born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan in 1978, is an electronic
music composer known. Growing up in the suburbs of Fujisawa, Hatakeyama's debut
full-length album Minima Moralia was released in 2006 on Kranky. His distinctive
sound, characterized by slow tempos and processed guitars, pianos, and
vibraphones, was classified as ambient, experimental, or new-age music. In 2010,
Hatakeyama founded the record label White Paddy Mountain, through which he
released numerous albums including Alone By the Sea (2013) and Lunar Eclipse
(2017).
