Charlie Gracie

Charles Anthony Graci, known professionally as Charlie Gracie, was born on May 14, 1936, in South Philadelphia. He was encouraged by his father to play guitar at age 10 and started his musical career at 16, appearing on the Paul Whiteman television show in 1952. His early recordings for Cadillac Records included "Boogie Woogie Blues" and "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down And Write Myself A Letter".
