Charles Milles Maddox, better known as Charles Manson, was born on November 12, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He began his music career on the fringe of the Los Angeles music industry in the late 1960s. His first notable association came through Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys, who introduced him to record producer Terry Melcher. In 1968, the Beach Boys recorded Manson's song "Cease to Exist", renamed "Never Learn Not to Love" as a single B-side, though Manson was uncredited.
