Chad VanGaalen
Chad VanGaalen, born 1977 in Calgary, Alberta, is a musician, animator, and
artist whose early work consisted of homemade CDs with hand‑drawn art. His
breakthrough came with the 2004 release of Infiniheart on Flemish Eye, reissued
by Sub Pop in 2005 with the Green Beans (2005) EP. Subsequent albums include
Skelliconnection (2006), Soft Airplane (2008), Diaper Island (2011), Shrink Dust
(2014), and Light Information (2017). Soft Airplane notably earned a Juno
nomination for Album of the Year and a Polaris Music Prize shortlist in 2009.
