Cevdet Erek is a Turkish visual artist, percussionist, and Associate Professor
from Istanbul, born in 1974. Erek performed as the drummer for the progressive
rock band Nekropsi beginning in the early 1990s and contributed to their debut
album, Mi Kubbesi (1996). His professional work combines sound, rhythm, and
architecture, for which he received the Nam June Paik Award in 2012. In 2017,
Erek released his first solo album, Davul, and represented Turkey at the 57th
