Caroline Herring, born December 10, 1969, in Canton, Mississippi, is an American folk and country singer, songwriter, and musician. She began her professional career as a graduate student at the University of Mississippi, co-founding Thacker Mountain Radio. In 1999, Herring moved to Austin, Texas, and released her debut album Twilight in 2001, earning the Best New Artist award at the SXSW Austin Music Awards.
