Carol Hall, born in 1936 in Abilene, Texas, was an American composer and lyricist. She graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 1960 and began her career singing in clubs. In 1970, she signed to Elektra Records as a singer-songwriter, releasing two albums: If I Be Your Lady (1971) and Beads & Feathers (1972). Hall's breakthrough came with the Broadway musical The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, for which she composed both music and lyrics. The show premiered in 1978 and was adapted into a film in 1982.
