Carl Robert Belew, born on April 21, 1931, in Salina, Oklahoma, was an American
country music singer and songwriter. He started his career in the early 1950s
performing on Louisiana Hayride. In the late 1950s, he signed with Decca Records
and achieved success with "Am I That Easy to Forget", which reached number 9 on
the country charts and was covered by several artists. Belew moved to RCA Victor
in 1962 and had another hit with "Hello Out There". Throughout his career, he
