Cannon’s Jug Stompers, a jug band from Memphis, Tennessee, was formed in 1928 by
blues musician Gus Cannon. Influenced by the Memphis Jug Band, Cannon recorded
his first tracks as Cannon’s Jug Stompers for Victor Records in January 1928,
including "Minglewood Blues" and "Madison Street Rag". The band's success led to
further recording sessions throughout 1928 and 1930. Their final session took
place in November 1930, after which the band disbanded. Cannon’s Jug Stompers
