Caldera was an American jazz fusion band. Formed in 1976, the group included
keyboardist Eduardo del Barrio, guitarist Jorge Strunz, bassist Greg Lee,
saxophonist Steve Tavaglione, drummer Carlos Vega, and percussionist Mike
"Baiano" Azevedo. In 1976, they signed with Capitol Records and released the
debut album Caldera (1976), followed by Sky Islands (1977), co-produced by Larry
Dunn. The song “Out of the Blue” (1977) reached number 95 on the Billboard Hot
Soul Singles chart. Subsequent albums included Time and Chance (1978) and
