Regan Farquhar, known as Busdriver, was born on February 12, 1978, in Los Angeles, California. He began rapping at age nine and joined the Project Blowed scene at 16. His first album, Memoirs of the Elephant Man, was released in 1999. In 2002, Busdriver released his second solo album, Temporary Forever. He collaborated with various artists such as Daedelus and Radioinactive on the album The Weather (2003) and the single "Touch Type" / "Winthorp & Winthorp."
