Bryan Treitler, known professionally as Bryan Scary, is an American musician. He
earned a film‑production degree from New York University in 2005. He played with
his band Shredding Tears and released Flight of the Knife in 2008, which became
an Editor’s Pick and reached number 6 on the Rock Albums chart. In 2009, he
issued the EP Mad Valentines, followed by the concept album Daffy’s Elixir in
2012. In 2016, he co‑founded Hummingbirds, scoring shorts such as Black Bear
