One of Japan's biggest rock acts during the 1980s, Boøwy was formed in 1981 in
Takasaki, Gunma. Originally known as Bōi, the group changed its name to Boøwy in
January 1982, two months before releasing the debut album Moral. Boøwy's sound
became increasingly pop-influenced at the 1980s progressed, with 1985's
self-titled Boøwy serving as the band's commercial breakthrough. Two albums
followed in 1986, with Just a Hero climbing to Number 5 on the Oricon Albums
