Bobby Byrne, born Robert Byrne on May 13, 1918, in Columbus, Ohio, was an
American bandleader and trombonist. He began his musical career at a young age,
learning multiple instruments from his musician parents. His breakthrough came
when Tommy Dorsey invited him to join the Dorsey Brothers band, leading to his
first solo recording with the band, "From the Top of Your Head to the Tip of
Your Toes", in 1938. Byrne formed his own band in November 1939 and signed with
