Bob Gibson
Samuel Robert Gibson, known as Bob Gibson, was born on November 16, 1931, in
Brooklyn, New York. He taught himself to play the banjo after meeting Pete
Seeger in 1953. Gibson performed extensively at the Gate of Horn folk club in
Chicago. His album, Gibson & Camp At The Gate Of Horn, was released in 1961 on
Elektra Records and featured collaborations with several artists including
Hamilton Camp. He introduced Joan Baez at the Newport Folk Festival of 1959.
