Blasted Mechanism
Blasted Mechanism is a Portuguese alternative rock band formed in 1995 by
Valdjiu and Karkov. Combining rock with electronic music and world music
influences, the group is known for its elaborate extraterrestrial-inspired stage
personas and for building custom instruments such as the calachacra and
bambuleco. Their albums include Plasma (1999), Namaste (2003), and Sound in
Light (2007), which featured collaborations with António Chainho, Rão Kyao, and
