Birol Topaloğlu
Birol Topaloğlu, born in Apso, Pazar district, Turkey, is a Turkish musician
known for his expertise as a wind instrument player. Growing up in a
Lasish-speaking family with a musical background, Topaloğlu initially studied
electrotechnology in Gaziantep and worked as an engineer while playing the saz
and singing türkü-pop music. His career took a significant turn in the mid-1990s
when he met Erkan Oğur, who encouraged him to collect traditional songs from his
Lasish heritage. Topaloğlu then studied Georgian folk music traditions and
