Big Flame (often stylised as bIG*fLAME) were a fiercely uncompromising and
sonically abrasive post-punk trio from Manchester, active between 1983 and 1986.
Comprised of Alan Brown (vocals, bass), Greg Keeffe (guitar), and Dil Green
(drums), the band took their name from a 1969 British socialist TV drama—an
early signal of their politically charged ethos and radical artistic intent.
Emerging from the vibrant UK DIY scene and associated with the C86 movement
(despite standing in stark contrast to its jangly pop sound), Big Flame
