Bharani, born Gunasekaran in Arundhavapuram, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu,
India, on June 19, 1971, is an Indian film score composer and lyricist who works
predominantly in Tamil cinema. Raised as the eldest of three brothers near
Tanjore, he completed his studies through the tenth class before relocating to
Chennai in 1989 to seek opportunities in the music industry. Working under his
birth name Gunasekaran, he achieved his first career breakthrough as a lyricist
by writing the actor Vijay's debut on-screen song for the film Naalaiya Theerpu
