Marcelo Pires Vieira, known as Belo, was born on April 22, 1974, in São Paulo,
Brazil. He started his music career as a cavaquinista before joining Soweto in
1993. With Soweto, he released three albums and performed extensively across
Brazil and internationally. In 1997, the group's album Refém do Coração sold
over 1 million copies, marking their national breakthrough. Belo left Soweto in
2000 and launched his solo career with the album Desafio, whose track “Tua Boca”
